Consulting
Outside of my role at Tonal, I take on select independent consulting work with an emphasis on:
- Technical and product strategy: technology appraisal, roadmap sequencing, build-vs-buy calls, and team structure for founders and executives building sport-science or health-tech data capabilities.
- Applied ML/AI for sport and movement data, including computer vision, sensor fusion, and statistical models that turn multi-modal sensor data (video, IMU, force plates, GPS) into practical, user- or coach-facing insight.
- Evaluating and implementing motion-capture and sensor technologies (3D motion capture, force plates, video, IMUs, linear position transducers) for game, practice, gym, and clinical settings.
- Causal inference and experimental design for evaluating training interventions and performance/injury-risk outcomes.
I've worked with organizations including MLB and NHL teams on performance and injury-risk analytics. I've also privately trained professional hockey players, olympic athletes, and business leaders. See Publications for examples of the research this work draws on. Often, this applied work cannot be shared publicly, so treat those as background rather than a complete portfolio.
